Guyana has appointed a new Ambassador to Suriname.
The new diplomat, Merlin Udho, arrived in the neighbouring country on November 20 and assumed the position on November 23 following the presentation of her credentials to the authorities there, Foreign Affairs Minister Carolyn Rodrigues confirmed yesterday. Udho had previously been programme co-ordinator for the government’s national competitiveness strategy.
She takes over from Karshanjee Arjun who had been in place in Paramaribo from December 3, 1994 to October 1, 2008.
