The Horticultural Society of Guyana’s two-day annual exhibition and plant sale opened yesterday at the Umana Yana.
The show featured over 20 categories of exhibits including cut flowers, fresh and dried arrangements, cacti and succulents, foliage plants, ferns, orchids, novelty arrangements, hanging baskets. Plants, pots and gardening equipment were also on sale.
Commercial booths such as Caribbean Chemicals Guyana Limited were also offering plants, fertilisers, garden accessories and tools for sale.
More than 200 entries were received, the society said.
There is also be the customary Tea Shoppe.
The show opened yesterday at 10 am and went until 6 pm; it continues today from 10 am to 6 pm. Prizes will be distributed to the winners before the close of the show.
Tickets for adults cost $500 and $100 for children under 12.
