The Guyana Elections Commission today declared APNU+AFC the winner of the 2015 general elections and it will have 33 seats in Parliament while the PPP/C will have 32.
The opposition alliance clinched 207,200 votes and the PPP/C 202,694.
The declaration was made by a majority vote, signaling that the PPP/C-appointed commissioners had opposed declaration.
APNU+AFC won the key Region Four by a large margin and Regions 7, 8 and 10. The PPP/C won the other six regions. APNU+AFC won Region Eight by one vote.
