Former West Indies opener Ryan Ramdass says he anticipates a strenuous therapeutic work load after his cast is removed and to be back in form in time for the regional competition.
The 23-year-old batsman had surgery twice last year; in March to repair rotator cuff damage and on December 19, after the Everest opener damaged the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during a third place playoff match with the Demerara team against Malteenoes in the inter-county competition. The cast is expected to be removed during the first week in February, after which, the right-hander said, he would be ready for the difficult road of therapy ahead.
Ramdass said the time at home had given him the opportunity to reflect on his career and he was confident of a successful recovery and triumphant return to national prominence.
He also said he was hoping to return to full fitness by October and hoped to represent Guyana at the regional competition. Besides one Test and one one-day international match, he played 21 first class matches scoring 1042 runs with an average of 30.64 including a personal best of 144 not-out.
