The ten-year-old boy who was hit by a car a stone’s throw away from the East La Penitence Police Station and his home on Christmas Day, succumbed yesterday to the massive head injuries he sustained.
Aziar Compton London of Lot 9 Jackson Dam, East La Penitence was a patient of the Intensive Care Unit of the Georgetown Hospital and up to the time of his death was unconscious.
The boy, who was a student of the F.E. Pollard Primary School, was hooked up to a life support machine and doctors had told his relatives that nothing more could be done for him.
After the accident the driver of the car who is a popular promoter was visiting the injured child in hospital and had even offered to transfer him to a private medical institution.
The boy’s father Warren London had told this newspaper last week that the doctor informed him that his son couldn’t survive the injuries he sustained.
Warren had said that the driver had offered to move the child to a private hospital but the doctor had said that was an unwise decision since all the tubes hooked up to the child would have to be removed.
Around 6:30 pm London was returning home after running an errand for his mother. He was attempting to cross the road when the car hit him.
The car had to reverse to free the child’s body. London was picked up in an unconscious condition and taken to the hospital. It was later revealed that he has a fractured skull. While hospitalized, the child started bleeding through his nose.
London leaves to mourn his parents, three sisters, two brothers and many relatives and friends.
