Ranks from a mobile patrol managed to retrieve a firearm and matching rounds that were thrown from a car they were chasing but failed to arrest the vehicle’s occupant(s).
On Friday morning last the patrol retrieved a .38 Taurus and matching rounds in the vicinity of Little Diamond, East Bank Demerara.
Police in a statement said that around 10 am the patrol was in pursuit of a car that was seen driving dangerously along the East Bank public road when they observed an object being thrown out of the moving vehicle.
Upon investigating the ranks discovered a .38 Taurus Revolver and four matching rounds.
The police failed to intercept the car, which sped away. Investigations are continuing.
