I read the ‘Consumer Concerns’ article in Sunday Stabroek, 7th January, about drugs and their ‘use-by’ dates. It seems unreasonable that such an important and fairly expensive drug should have such a short use-by life. Let us hope this matter is examined soon and a solution found.
Mention was made of Glucosamine and Chon-droitin tablets (for arthritis). I personally found these tablets brought on severe constipation. I mentioned this to a consultant and he agreed that that was one of the side effects of this particular preparation and that “all pills and medicines have side effects”!
So, let the user beware.
