Legends recorded a rare victory Friday night over the Pepsi Sonics, while Ravens dominated Scorpions in the feature game of the double -header at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
Clairmonte Bascom scored 16 points to help the Legends pass Sonics 64-50 in game one of the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Associ-ation (GABA) League tournament while Ravens won game two 76-67.
Richard Bascom scored 15 points for Sonics in game one. Soriah Clark led the Ravens’ offence with 19 points, while new recruits Ryan Stephney and Randy Burgess finished with 10 points each in game two.
Kester Gomes and Trevor McCloud topped Scorpions scoring with 15 and 11 points respectively. The latest GABA seeding received by Stabroek Sport last Thursday had Ravens seeded at number three, while Scorpions was seeded at five.
Meanwhile, the tournament continued last night with number one seed Courts Pacesetters taking on Legends in the feature game, while McCabeen Rangers faced number four seed Nets in game one.
