A man who allegedly broke into a recently-opened store and stole large amounts of cellular phones and other items amounting to over $5.6 million was yesterday refused bail by Acting Chief Magistrate Cecil Sullivan.
Wycliff Grant was not required to plead to the break and enter and larceny charge when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
It is alleged that between January 6 and 8 at King Street he broke and entered the store of Denswick Northe and stole 129 cellular phones, phone accessories, electrical appliances and $50,000, all to the total value of $5,636,260, property of Northe. The business place, North Point Imports, was only opened one month prior to the burglary.
Grant was remanded to prison and will return to Court Five on February 10.
