Dear Editor,
Many thanks for publishing the letter captioned “This rotten electricity pole can fall at any time” (07.01.03) and for sending a copy of the letter to Guyana Power and Light. The pole was removed the same day the letter was published.
Are the newspaper vendors supposed to charge VAT? if the answer is no please publish loud and clear.

The newspaper vendors should sell the Stabroek News for $60 and the Sunday Stabroek for $l00 which are the VAT inclusive prices.
