The Iwokrama International Centre and Conservation International have scheduled a public viewing of An Inconvenient Truth on Thursday, January 25, in the Rupununi Room, Hotel Tower at 6 pm.
In a recent statement, Iwokrama said the film offers a passionate and inspirational look at one man’s fervent crusade to halt global warming’s deadly progress in its tracks by exposing the myths and misconceptions that surround it.
“As the implications of climate change become more apparent, if we do not put measures in place now a vast majority of the world’s scientists believe that climate change may trigger sudden extreme impact changes worldwide,” the statement warned.
The film was directed by Davis Guggenheim and according to Iwokrama, in it he eloquently weaved the science of global warming with former US vice president Al Gore’s personal history and lifelong commitment to reversing the effects of global climate change.
“An Inconvenient Truth is not a story of despair but rather a rallying cry to protect the one earth we share,” the release said.
