The Gunners Sports Club defeated the Ravens by two wickets in the third annual Troy Jeffery Memorial 30-over cricket match played last Sunday while the Henrietta United juniors beat the seniors in the football match.
Medium pacer Frederick Morris picked up four for 13 as the Ravens struggled to an even 100 all- out in 23 overs. Morris was supported well by Safraz Ali who grabbed three for 17 and the experienced Mark Stepney picking up two for 18. Lakmint Narine top scored with 26 including two fours.
The Gunners did not have the easiest time they needed 27 overs and lost eight wickets in the process. Richie Bishop top scored with 33 and Ramzon Ramsool contributed 25, off spinner Elroy Stepney picked up three for 12 while Narine grabbed three for 18 bowling for the Ravens.
In the football match hosted in honour of Jeffrey, who played both games, the Henrietta United juniors beat the seniors when Devon Romeo scored twice, while the Livan siblings Jermaine and Christ scored one each. Deter Stepney, Hilton Williams and Albert Belfield scored for the seniors who lost 4-3.
The matches were played at the Richmond Community Centre ground.
