Magistrate Chandra Sohan committed two men accused of murder to stand trial at the next sitting of the High Court in Berbice when they on Tuesday appeared before him at the Whim Magistrate’s Court.
Sewdial ‘Andy’ Ramroop and Deocharran Gobin both of Tain Settlement, Port Mourant, Corentyne, on September 25, 2003, at Tain, allegedly murdered Rohan Sheocharran.
Ramroop, who had voiced his frustration loudly in court because of the lengthy trial, was at first reluctant to accept the decision. According to reports the trial was delayed because the court was awaiting advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
