A baby boy was yesterday burned to death at his Leguan, Essequibo River home.
Dead is six-month-old Akash John. Reports are that the mother of the boy, who was reportedly cooking at the time, went to the shop to purchase something leaving the baby with another sibling. The sibling apparently found some matches which he played with and set the blanket that the baby was covered with afire.
The burnt body was carried to the West Demerara Regional Hospital yesterday.
