Prime Minister Samuel Hinds yesterday said veteran journalist Cecil Griffith who passed away on Monday was an eminent son of the soil who has left his “imprint in the spheres of journalism”.
Hinds yesterday said Griffith’s interest and knowledge of the modus operandi of the City Council which was eloquently captured in his weekly column “City Council Round Up” is testimony to a unique temperament that impressed one and all.
The Prime Minister, who is performing the functions of President, said he learnt of Griffith’s death with great sadness and said his thoughts and prayers are with Griffith’s family members as well as friends.
“As much as you will miss him, so too will this nation which he served so faithfully”, Hinds said.
