Gunmen robbed a Bryden and Fernandes Company delivery van yesterday of over $1 million, during which time they ordered the workers to hand over the money or face death.
“Give me all the money or else ‘y’all’ would be dead,” one of the robbers threatened.
Speaking to Stabroek News yesterday an official of the company located on Water Street said the driver and three porters went out yesterday collecting money from creditors. The men toured the East Coast and were back in Georgetown in the Orange Walk, Bourda area around 11 am when the bandits struck.
Stabroek News was told that the delivery van was outside a store conducting business when two men approached. They threatened the driver and the porter while brandishing their weapons. The driver gave up the cash totalling over $1 million and the bandits escaped.
