Players on the ‘Golden Jaguars’ team treated young footballers in Linden with motivational talks last Sunday at a forum organised by the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) at the McKenzie Sports Club ground.
A release from the GFF stated that captain Charles ‘Lily’ Pollard, Howard Lowe, Collie Hercules, Kayode Mckinnon and Richard Reynolds, fresh off the Digicel Caribbean Cup games, made the presentations.
The release said that the national players encouraged the young footballers to pursue professionalism in order to take their game to the next level.
The players also received talks from Trinidadian goalkeeping coach Steve Fredricks, sports physiotherapist Dave Isaacs and national technical director Jamaal Shabazz.
Fredricks talked about goalkeeping while Isaacs spoke about the importance of health, good nutrition and procedures for injuries sustained during a football match. Shabazz encouraged the footballers to enhance their individual skills.
The GFF applauded the EDFA for their initiative and the national team for their commitment and time.
