Over 90 patients were attended to during the medical outreach the Rotary Club of Demerara conducted on Sunday at Hubu Village, East Bank Essequibo.
Attending to the patients, who included men, women and children, were gynaecologist Dr M.Y. Bacchus, paediatrician Dr Hardat Persaud and dentist Dr Deborah Patterson, a press release from the club stated.
This was the club’s second medical outreach for Rotary Year 2006-2007 and
club president David Patterson expressed gratitude to these medical professionals for their sterling services in making the outreach meaningful and successful for the Hubu residents.
The Rotary Club is also appreciative of the contribution of medical supplies for this outreach from Twins Manufacturing Chemists, Pharmagen Enterprises, Bacchus Drugs Store, and the New GPC Inc. These agencies had also made similar donations to the club’s first medical outreach which was held at Tenabu on the Demerara River, Linden in October last year.
The club also recognized the role of the Region Three health officials who made the Health Centre at Hubu available for conducting the medical outreach.
Meanwhile, the Rotary Club president said that another medical outreach is planned before the end of the Rotary year. He said he is very pleased that the club can render quality healthcare free to deserving citizens in rural communities. The outreach was coordinated by the club’s Community Services Director Dale Erskine.
