The heat is on today with two of Guyana’s top teams doing battle in the Mayor’s Cup 2007 Football Competition.
The showdown will take place at the Guyana Football Club (GFC) ground from 6:00 pm where Top XX will throw down the gauntlet to GDF while Pele will take on Den Amstel.
The competition began yesterday with a march past and the first set of matches.
The winning team will receive a total of $500,000, second place will get $200,000 and third place $100,000 while fourth spot will receive $50,000.
The ‘Most Goal Scorer’ will receive a Jialing motorcycle from the Jialing Company and the ‘Most Outstanding Goal Keeper’ will receive a gas stove, compliments of Keishars.
