The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Guyflag senior inter – association tournament will continue today at the Wales Community Centre ground with West Demerara taking on Georgetown in a feature encounter.
The Georgetown side boast a powerful attack up front with Gregory ‘Jackie Chan’ Richardson, Anthony ‘Awo’ Abrams, Devon Millington and Nigel Codrington providing a well rounded combination.
In the midfield Georgetown will trust Kanata Manning, Travis Grant and Dirk Archer while Kelvin McKenzie, Neville Stanton and Leslie Holligan along with Sean Johnson in the uprights will take care of defence for the city team.
Marvin Griffith will form the last line of defence for the West Demerara team with Ike Garraway and Sherwin Lanferman offering support. Adami Hoyte and Owen McGarrell will play in the middle for the team.
Clement Browne and Adrian Gittens are the other two players expected to form the core of the West Demerara line – up that will tackle the mighty Georgetown side, which includes several national players.
The top team in the tournament will receive $300,000 while second, third and fourth place gets $150, 000, $75,000 and $50,000 respectively.
The Most Valuable Player gets a pair of football boots and $20,000, the highest goal scorer also gets a pair of football boots but $15,000 while the best goalkeeper receives a pair of gloves and $10,000.
