Dear Editor,
The Mash Calypso semi-final was held in Linden on February 10, 2007 at the Mackenzie Sports Club Ground. The show got off to a late 9 pm start after a long wait for an audience. Research revealed that there was little or no advertisement for this event in the mining town, and the question is why?
Is it that the PPP/C administration did not want a crowd to hear criticisms and lampooning against them? Will we see advertisements for the Mash Calypso Finals at the National Park on Saturday, February 17? I also noticed that so far I am not hearing any of the calypsos on the national radio/TV station.
There is a great deal of publicity as regards to the decoration of buildings and the costume parade, but how come there is no press coverage of the calypsos? Will the Honourable Minister of Culture be ‘frank’ and let us know?
Yours faithfully,
