Tony Affonso and Ravindra Karim were awarded for outstanding performances by the Flying Ace Cycle Club of Berbice.
Affonso and Karim were each presented with trophies by Assistant Commissioner of Police Clinton Conway and Deputy Superintendent, Traffic Chief, John Daniels respectively in the presence of club coach Randolph Roberts and fellow cyclist Leon Cipriani.
Meanwhile, the club held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday at its headquarters 24-31 Alexander Street to appoint new executives to serve for 2007.
John Lewis was unanimously re-elected president while Mursalene Bacchus and Ganesh Singh were re-elected as first and second vice-president respectively.
Margaret Kuma is Secretary and Rhonda Russel Assistant Secretary.
Randolph Roberts is treasurer-coach/ public relations officer while Neil Reis was appointed captain. Errol Alphonso is the Patron.
Elected committee members include Phillip Arokium, Ramona Blair, Wayne Gafoor and Winston Thomas.
According to a release, the officers and members expressed their sincere thanks to persons who supported the club throughout 2006 and added that they are looking forward to their continuous support this year. (SH)
