Digicel says it will soon provide Mabaruma, Region One, residents with cellular phone service.
A press release from Region One said the company met with Region One Chairman Fermin Singh, Vice-Chairman Paul Pierre, Regional Executive Officer Ramnarine Singh and Community Development Officer Victor Boyer to identify an appropriate site to install its equipment. Digicel officers were given an aerial view of the Mabaruma Sub-region as well as a guided tour over land to assist with identifying the site. The company also said the land acquisition process was recently completed and the region would need to document its consent before construction can begin.
