Six juveniles accused of robbing a woman at gunpoint of her cell phone and boxes of food several days ago, appeared yesterday in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court and were each released on $10,000 bail by Acting Chief Magistrate Cecil Sullivan.
The minors who range in age from 14 to 16 denied the allegation.
It is alleged that on Monday being armed with a gun, the six boys robbed Sabrina Ishmael of one cell phone and two boxes of food, a total value of $47,000.
Attorneys-at-law Leslie Sobers and Peter Hugh appeared for the juveniles yesterday.
In his application, Sobers told the court that children should be at home at nights and not on the road.
The prosecution subsequently asked that bail for the minors be refused since the offence for which they are charged is a serious one.
Hugh asked to court to reconsider and put the children on low bail or release them into the custody of their parents. The matter continues on March 13.
