Nicholas Narain defeated Turhan Mohabeer Saturday night to cart off the Category `A’ singles title when the Bounty farm handicap squash tournament concluded at the Georgetown Club on Camp Street.
Third place went to Mary Fung-a-Fat.
In the open category, Keisha Jeffrey gained a walkover from an injured Alex Gouveia in the final. Allan Downes and Kristian Jeffrey placed third and fourth respectively.
In the category `A’ plate Robert Hiscock was the winner with Kayla Jeffrey the runner-up.
Mary Fung-A-Fat was adjudged the Most Improved player while Brandon Bento was given an award for good sportsmanship.
In brief remarks, Ronald Burch-Smith thanked the Georgetown Club for allowing them to use the facilities and to Bounty Farm Limited for its sponsorship of the event.
Burch-Smith added that the tournament was a good warm-up for the juniors ahead of the upcoming junior Mashramani tournament billed for February 27.
Bounty Farm Limited representative Garfield Wiltshire responded by giving the assurance that the company would continue to provide sponsorship for tournaments.
Meanwhile GSA will hold their Annual General meeting (AGM) on March 6.
