Dear Editor,
I am writing to bring to the attention of the M&CC or the NDC [I don’t know who is responsible] the deplorable condition of Sixth Street Cummings Lodge. This road has been deteriorating for the past three years with no repairs done for the same period. The main access road to the University of Guyana is patched occasionally. However, the Sixth Street is never repaired.
I have attached a picture which was taken on Sunday 18th February and you can see for yourself the present condition. You can imagine when it rains what happens.
I will therefore be grateful if the relevant authority [or the Government in its beautification drive for the world cup] gives some attention to this street since it is the main access road for Cummings Lodge and Industry. Incidentally, I have noticed that the road that was ‘dug up’ by GT&T in front of the CPCE has started to crack up. I would also like to make a suggestion to the officials involved in the placing of street signs around Georgetown to mount these signs higher on the utility posts since at most corners there is one present. As such, the signs will not be easily vandalised and will be more visible.
Yours faithfully,
S. Patandin
