A Sophia resident who was allegedly found with cocaine during a police operation, appeared in court on Friday and was remanded to prison by Acting Chief Magistrate Cecil Sullivan.
Hercules Bancroft, 36, of 552 `C’ Field Sophia pleaded not guilty to the charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
It is alleged that last Wednesday he had 30 grammes of cocaine in his possession.
“Sir me ain’t had no drugs in my possession,” was Bancroft’s response when the magistrate asked him to plead to the charge.
He later admitted that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time but denied having any cocaine on him.
The matter continues on March 26 in Court Three.
