Peter Abdool was elected president of the Guyana Boxing Board of Control (GBBC) when that body held its annual general meeting on Sunday at the Lions Club, Bel Air, Campbellville.
According to a release, two new members have been elected to serve on the 12-member GBBC Board. The two are Bernard Dos Santos and Valarie Lowe. Abdool will fill the void left by outgoing president KD Persaud who migrated to Canada last October.
The other executives are all long-serving members of the GBBC. They are Mohan Persaud (vice-president), Trevor Arno (secretary), Andrew Thorne (treasurer) and Francis Abraham (assistant secretary/treasurer).
The 12-member board comprises Abdool, Dos Santos, Lowe, Persaud, Abraham, Thorne, Arno, Eon Jardine, Ian Hercules, Dr. Carl Max Hanoman, Patricia Green and Aubrey Henry.
