An East Coast youth who allegedly stole a $180,000 gold chain from a man was yesterday placed on $20,000 bail by Acting Chief Magistrate Cecil Sullivan at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
Linden Thompson, 19, of 24 Friendship, East Coast Demerara pleaded not guilty to robbery with violence.
It is alleged that on February 16 on Sheriff Street he robbed Lamar Benn of a gold chain valued at $180,000 and made use of personal violence on the complainant.
Attorney-at-law Emily Dodson represented Thompson and requested reasonable bail.
Thompson will return to court on March 21.
