The Guyana Squash Association (GSA) will serve off a Toucan Industries Incorporated junior Mashramani tournament billed for Tuesday at the Georgetown Club, Camp Street.
The tournament will conclude the following Sunday and is aimed at attracting junior squash player of all abilities.
A GSA press release stated that the players will be categorized according to skill level and not age. This should result in a very competitive and entertaining tournament, the release stated.
Each skill category will play a round robin to determine the winner.
Most of Guyana’s top junior players and three current Caribbean individual champions; Mary Fung-A-Fat, Keisha Jeffrey and Alex Arjoon are expected to participate in the action.
The junior selection committee will be paying close attention to the tournament as they consider the makeup of the national junior training squad which will be selected early next month to prepare for the Caribbean championships in July of this year.
