Carlos La Rose was yesterday named to skipper the Demerara squad for the upcoming Castrol under-15 inter-county cricket competition after two days of trial matches at the Demerara Cricket Club ground.
The Trial matches were dominated by bowlers so much that Delon Fernandes’ 37 was the highest score recorded of the week-end followed by Jagdesh Bishun’s 29.
The Demerara squad of fourteen reads:Carlos LaRose (captain) Shameer Fazal (vice-captain) Shane Sebarran, Delon Fernandes, Keon Franklin, Dayanand Roopnarine, Kevin Singh, wicket-keeper, Jagdesh Bishun, Rajiv Singh, Amir Khan, Ricardo Devers, Andre Stolle, Seon Daniels and Azad Mohammed. The six stand-bys are Madha Dhanpaul, Sheldon Agard, Leroy Edwards, wicket-keeper, Delroy Charles, Arif Habib and Brian Doodnauth.
The competition will be played in a round robin format and is scheduled to start Friday with Demerara taking on Essequibo at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground Bourda.
