Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez is expected to arrive in Guyana this afternoon at the head of a large delegation that would include Venezuela’s ambassador-designate to Guyana.
Guyana has been without an appointed ambassador with Charge d’Affaires Fernando Rincon heading the Venezuelan mission in Guyana for the past five years.
Stabroek News understands that approval is being sought by the Venezuelan government for the person nominated to the post here.
