Deputy Mayor Robert Williams met with contractors last week to discuss the maintenance programme for the city’s drains.
According to a press release from the Mayor and City Council Williams, who is performing the duties of mayor, said the aggressive maintenance programme which started on Thursday would be supported by the ongoing anti-litter campaign in different sections. The council said these works were part of a wider programme to ensure the integrity of the city for the Cricket World Cup and beyond.
The council said it was calling on all citizens to support these efforts by keeping their premises clean.
