The Caribbean Develop-ment Bank (CDB) has earmarked US$14M for future projects in Guyana.
CDB President Dr Compton Bourne, who is on a three-day visit to Guyana, met with President Bharrat Jagdeo yesterday at the Office of the President. Dr Bourne told the Government Information Agency (GINA) that future project areas were discussed with the Head of State during the meeting. In reference to the specific dollar figure for these projects, Dr. Bourne said the sum identified is in the vicinity of US$21M, but of that amount US$7M is already being expended on three existing projects which leaves $14M for future developmental projects. “We want to use the model of the community projects we have had in places like Parika and extend that model to other communities,” Dr. Bourne was quoted as saying by GINA.
