The Guyana Japan Karate Association (GJKA) will be graced with the presence of two overseas karate masters who will help to boost the sport in Guyana.
Regional Chairman and Chief Instructor of the International Shotokan Karate Federation (ISKF) 9th degree black belt master, Teruyuki Okazaki, will be arriving in Guyana on Wednesday, as well as overseas-based Guyanese Chief Instructor of Canada and Guyana 7th degree black belt master, Frank Woon-A-Tai, who is scheduled to arrive on Saturday.
A GJKA press release stated that the white belters (5th KYU) will be graded at the Guyana Red Cross Society auditorium on Sunday from 9am after which there will be a special training programme beginning at noon.
The training will conclude on Monday and Tuesday at the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA).
A grading of the Judges and Dans examination will take place on Thursday at YMCA and the events will conclude on Friday with the grading of the 4th-1st Kyu at YMCA.
