I applaud Vincent Alexander’s attempt to defend the ‘name’ of President Forbes Burnham through constructive debate, rather than through diatribe. To his credit, Alexander employs notions of methodology and theory in answering critics of Mr. Burnham. Let us recall Alexander’s key points for those who may have missed it.
The first issue for Alexander is that there must be a clear definition of ‘dictatorship.’ He acknowledges that one useful definition of dictatorship is – “strictly a form of rule in which absolute power in vested in one individual.”
