Campbellville `A’ and Sophia `B’ will clash in the lone encounter of the Guyana Football, Federation/Camptown Super Six Inter-Block Football Tournament which continues today from 4pm at the Camptown ground.
According to a release, the main purpose of the tournament is the recruiting of young, talented players who are unattached to clubs and enlisting them among membership, reflecting the club’s objective of development.
The release said this selection method will help the clubs to become competitive, domestically and nationally, and not aiding the underdevelopment of the sport by weakening club structures whenever the transfer window is open.
Meanwhile, when the tournament got underway yesterday at the Campbellville ground, Campbellville `B’ beat Kitty `A’ 4-3 through a double from Elton Browne in the 24th and 33rd minutes and one goal each from Ryan Hinckson (28th) and Lloyd Burns (49th).
Kitty’s goals were scored by Dexter Rodford, Sherwyn Vincent and Sherwyn Baley in the 40th, 57th and 60th minutes respectively.
