Harrinarine Chattergoon continued his good run of form with an unbeaten century to lead his team in the first of two scheduled 50-over under-15 trial matches at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) ground yesterday.
The Berbice under-15 captain who scored an unbeaten 53 in the final round of the Castrol inter-county under-15 competition on Friday, continued where he left off with a blistering 73-ball 101 laced with 14 fours and four sixes out of the 270-8 his team scored in reply to Carlos LaRose’s XI 172-9.
Shameer Fazal crafted a supporting innings of 23 as the opening pair put on 164, wicket-keeper batsman Kevin Singh smashed five fours in a brisk 24 while Melvin Seepersaud contributed 21 including three fours.
Earlier LaRose’s XI batting first tallied 172-9 in the allotted 50 overs Imran Latif top scored with 29 (3×4,1×6) while Travis Karim scored 27 (1×4,1×6) and Joemall LaFleur chipped in with 24(2×4).
Left-arm spinner Khemraj Rampersaud picked up 2-20 from six overs and medium pacer Rove Harris grabbed 2-23 also from six overs.
The second trial match is scheduled for today at 9 am at the DCC ground.
