A 30-year-old man accused of raping a 16-year-old girl was on Thursday placed on $100,000 bail when he appeared at the Springlands Court before Magistrate Krishendat Persaud.
Sasenarine Bridgemohan of Number 68 Village was charged with rape committed on the 16-year-old girl of Number 70 Village. He was not required to plead to the indictable offence.
According to the police, on February 15, the virtual complainant was in a Chinese restaurant at Number 70 Village when it is alleged that the accused went into the restaurant and committed the act.
