Dear Editor,
Mr Ivan David in his letter to KN on March 5, 2007 mentioned that Mr Robert Corbin should leave the party. Well I totally disagree.
I do not know who he speaks for but I speak for over 12,000 PNC supporters of Region 5 who are quite comfortable with the leadership of Mr Corbin.
I have been a member of the PNC for 35 years and our party has made tremendous progress under the astute leadership of Mr Corbin. Mr Corbin has stood up and will continue to stand up to the PPP/C administration whenever the need arises. Where was Mr David when we took to the streets to protest issues that we know will adversely affect the Guyanese people.
With regard to the 2006 elections campaign the PNCR-1G had one of the best campaigns although the time was short and resources limited. We were able to reach out to all 10 Administrative Regions.
Since the writer is so au fait with the workings of the PNC leadership he ought to know that there is a mechanism if there is a need for the removal of the leader. Has he not heard of Congress?
Yours faithfully,
Carol Vieira-Smith
