Rose Hall Town Courts demoralised Skeldon to join Albion in the semi-finals of the Berbice zone of the 2007 Neal and Massay first-division limited overs cricket competition recently.
Both teams are top of zone B with 12 points each.
Fast bowler, Leland Edwards grabbed 5-32 from his allotted eight overs while off – spinner Troy Mathieson took 3-15 from five overs to help dismiss Skeldon for 68 in just 21 overs.
Rose Hall replied with 70-2 in 12.2 overs after losing openers Royston Crandon and Renwick Batson early in the innings. Delbert Hicks saw the team through with an unbeaten 30. With him was Jason Sinclair on 12.
In the other match played on Sunday at Rose Hall, Canje, the home team defeated Police by 36 runs.
Rose Hall scored 182-7 in 40 overs after winning the toss and deciding to bat. Balram Samaroo top-scored with 64 not out for Rose Hall while Daryl Narine chipped in with 26.
Police replied with 146 all out in 35.3 overs with Albert Sinclair contributing 48. Jameel Blair ended with 3-10 while Sean Jhetto and Sanjay Khan took two wickets apiece for 12 and 29 runs respectively. Rose Hall Community Centre leads zone ‘A’ with 10 points from five matches with the win while West Berbice, Young Warriors and Bermine are tied for second place with eight points from three matches each.
Blairmont Community Centre lags behind with six points from four matches while Police occupies the bottom of the points standings. They are yet to record a point after three matches.
In zone ‘B’, Albion and Rose Hall Town Courts lead the group with 12 points each from three matches while Scotsburg United has so far garnered four points from three matches rounding off the top three teams in the zone.
Port Mourant has surprisingly failed to get a point in two matches so far while Skeldon Community Centre is also yet to get off the mark from three matches.
Both teams are at the bottom of the zone.
