The Berbice zone of the National Inter-Secondary School Under-16 40-over Cricket Competition continued with interesting highlights.
The latest match played showed outstanding performance from the New Amsterdam Multilateral Secondary School in their match-up against Sheet Anchor Primary School. Mortimer Fraser scored 69 runs with 9 fours, Linden Austin 50 (7 fours), Ameer Rahaman 50 (5 fours) and Travis Frank 46 to steer them to 364 all-out in 31 overs.
After Antonio Bhikam took 4 for 6 from 3.2 overs and Joshua Choy took 3 for 3 from 2 overs. It took them 10.2 overs to bowl out Sheet Anchor Primary for a miserable 25.
Meanwhile, Clinton Restano of Skeldon High School scored 51 runs to help his school reach 164 in 32.2 overs against Tagore Memorial Secondary. His team mate offspinner Delvin Maynard then took 4 for 21 from 5.2 overs to bowl out Tagore for 104.
Later on Manchestor Secondary scored 160 against Central Corentyne Secondary before their medium pacer Vickram Sooknanan took 6 for 13 from 4 overs to bowl out Central Corentyne for 74.
Meanwhile, the Competition Committee of the Berbice Cricket Board of Control has fixed new dates for the 2007 Isaac Bissoon first division three-day cricket competition semi-final match to be played between Young Warriors and Port Mourant.
The match which was scheduled for last weekend ended without a first innings decision at the Port Mourant ground when both the second and third day were completely washed out.
The Young Warriors scored 309 for 5 on the first day. After the Committee added a fourth consecutive day Young Warriors continued their innings and were all out for 317. Port Mourant used the time available to respond with 124 for 4 at the close avoiding the first innings defeat.
Today and tomorrow the teams will meet for their rematch at the Rose Hall Welfare ground in Canje from 10:30am.
Albion Community Centre has already earned their place in the finals having defeated West Berbice by an innings and 65 runs in the other semi-final match played last week.
