Three masked gunmen last Tuesday evening robbed an Adventure Village, Corentyne, Berbice, family of cash and jewellery after bursting into the family’s kitchen.
According to a release from the police, the robbery occurred around 8 pm on Tuesday while the cattle farmer and his wife were sitting in the kitchen with the door open.
The suspects confronted them, the release said, and took the woman, Doris Dipnarine, into the house where she was assaulted and the family robbed of $5,000, seven gold rings, one gold chain and one pair of gold earrings.
The men then fled into the backlands and the woman were treated at the Port Mourant Hospital and sent away. The police are investigating.
