The Ministry of Health is hosting an eight-day medical outreach programme at geriatric homes across the country to mark International Day of Older Persons.
According to a press release, the programme started on Sunday and is being run by a team of doctors in the public health system.
Today, Dr Amsterdam and Nicola Melville from the TB Clinic will be at Bond Heaven’s in Campbellville; Dr Jaipersaud and Dr J Mohanlall will be at Ivy Hall Memorial Home, Camp Street; Dr Woolford and Dr Kishendatt will be St Vincent De Paul Home, Thomas Street and Dr Abdalla will be at the Salvation Army’s Men Hostel in Kingston.
Tomorrow’s schedule will see Dr Paltoo and Dr Raghunauth at the Archers Home; Dr Kishendatt, at The Blind Institute and Dr Alexander and a team at the Female Senior Citizens’ Home at De Kenderen, West Coast Demerara.
On Thursday, Dr Woolford and a team will hold a clinic at the Nazareth Home; Dr Cartaya and an RHS nurse will be at the St Thomas More Men’s Home.
On Friday, Dr Paltoo, Dr Jaipersaud and an RHS nurse will be at the Salvation Army Women’s Hostel; and Dr Alexander, Dr Kishendatt and Dr Amsterdam will be at the Uncle Eddie’s Home.
On Saturday Dr Paltoo, Dr Jaipersaud, Dr Abdalla, Dr Raghunauth and Dr Amsterdam will be at the Uncle Eddie’s Home.
Clinics have already been held at the Palms, Enmore Senior Citizens’, Holy Family, Gentlewomen’s and St Joseph homes.
