As the jogger who was attacked by two pit bulls early Tuesday morning continues to cry out for pain and numbness in his limbs, the police yesterday took statements from the owner of the animals and the woman who came to his aid.
Yesterday, medical personnel at the Georgetown Hospital examined his hands which were both chewed to the bone and redressed them.
Sharon Wade told Stabroek News yesterday that her husband is due to undergo a second operation tomorrow for the wounds on his hands. She said that he is complaining about numbness.
She said too that her husband will be making an official statement to the police at a later date.
Just after 5 am, 57-year-old Lennox Wade, who is a gold miner and a furniture manufacturer of 3051 North Ruimveldt, was attacked by two pit bulls while jogging in the vicinity of Well Road in North Ruimveldt.
After about thirteen minutes of calling for help and with the dogs mauling him, a woman living nearby threw a bucket of water on the ferocious animals. Wade was later rushed to the Georgetown Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and was admitted.
He sustained injuries to both of his hands which have to bandaged and are still bleeding and countless bite marks, some huge, on his legs, feet, neck and back.
