Georgetown Football Club (GFC) thrashed Santos 4-0 in one of the five matches of the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) U-17 League played on Saturday at the GFC ground.
Michael Henry in the 29th minute and Sherwin Barrows in the 42nd minute put GFC 2-0 up at half time while the other two goals came during the first seven minutes of the second half.
Gavin White in the 47th minute and George Ndifon in the 52nd put the finishing touches on their team’s comprehensive victory.
Meanwhile, at the Camptown ground, one of the most dramatic comebacks of the league unfolded in the Alpha United and Pele encounter.
Pele took an early 1-0 lead as a result of a Kevin Hodge goal in the 10th minute of the game.
They then held on to the lead throughout the first half until Kelston Sammond netted the equalizer in the 60th minute.
This goal had a dual effect taking the wind out of the sails of Pele while re-energising Alpha United and it came as no surprise when Frank Dover netted the winning goal in the 70th minute.
In a surprising twist of events, Camptown finally got into the win column when they enjoyed a walkover victory over Thomas United who were missing in action at game time.
