Digicel’s first outing and partnership with GuyExpo was successful, Chief Executive Officer Mark Linehan said in a press release.
Linehan said “Digicel was delighted to play a major role in GuyExpo as the Telecoms Partner as well as exhibitor.” He said the fair gave the company a tremendous platform to present its products and services to the business community and the public in an interactive way. The interest in Digicel’s products and services was overwhelming and the company is looking forward to “continuing and expanding our participation in the expo in the years to come.”
Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce Manniram Prashad said it was a pleasure having Digicel on board as a partner in the fair. He commended the company for being a corporate sponsor and said he looks forward to continued partnership.
Digicel and the GuyExpo Planning Committee committed to working out a long-term partnership when the agreement for participation was signed in September. The company had provided a number of BlackBerry smartphones with credit, and other phones for use during the staging of the event as well as computers to boost communication during its management. It also hosted a Saturday night entertainment and cocktail reception for corporate clients. Its booth was also a base for sport and entertainment stars Ramnaresh Sarwan, Mark Vieira and Malo. The celebrities signed autographs and took photographs with fans every night of the exposition.
Additionally, the company provided an opportunity for one of its partners, Sony Ericsson, to participate at the fair, through its booth. Sony Ericsson displayed state-of-the-art handsets and accessories and demonstrated their uses to visitors. Also, every night one lucky visitor won a Sony Ericsson W810i. Linehan, in presenting the phones to the winners said the company is all about giving customers value. “Even as we continue to create great benefits for our customers, we look forward to adding even more value to our service through a truly liberalized market,” he said.
