Two years after Feroze Alli was fatally shot during the Main Big Lime, Kevin Anthony is before the High Court for the murder.
Anthony called ‘Bugga Bumps’ was arraigned before Justice Rishi Persaud last week on the capital offence for the January 2, 2005 shooting on Main Street during the annual Lime. Alli was with a group of friends when the incident happened.
Yesterday the prosecution led by state counsel, Leron Daly called two witnesses to the stand. One witness testified to being in Alli’s company on the day in question when he was shot. The young woman recalled that at the time she did not see the actual shooting but she heard the gunshots.
A police witness later took the stand and testified that he was among the ranks who arrested Anthony several days later at his Leopold and George streets home. He said Anthony did not resist arrest.
The prosecution is contending that Anthony shot and killed Alli during the annual celebration. Anthony is being represented by attorney-at-law Lydon Amsterdam.
The trial is continuing.
