Local golfers will tee off today in the Neal and Massy Guyana Group sponsored Golf tournament at the Lusignan Golf Course.
There will be the usual start at 12:30 hours.
Several of the country’s leading golfers are expected to be on show including last weekend’s Ansa McAl winner Maurice Solomon, Patrick Prashad who won the GBTI tournament two weeks ago, Alfred Mentore, B. Deo, Mike Mangal, and Colin Ming.
Solomon won last week’s tournament playing with a 23 handicap and had a gross 91 to finish with a net 68. Deo playing with a 15 handicap was second with a gross 84 and a net 6, while Mentore with a nine handicap recorded a gross 80 to end with a net 71 for third place.
Solomon was also nearest to the pin and won a prize for that feat.
The Lusignan Golf Club will host the Guyana Open next month.
A representative of the Neal and Massy Group is expected to be on hand to assist in the presentation of prizes.
