I refer to the article by Mr Troy Peters in Stabroek News on Sunday September 30th 2007 captioned “Grounds zero” and wish to bring to your attention, the condition of the Uitvlugt Community Development Centre Ground and the Leonora Park ground. These are under the management of Guysuco (W.D.Estates), there is also the Meten-Meer-Zorg Community Centre.
Once we could have boasted as having a Ground (Uit.C.C.) where an 800m track could has been easily accessed; but now it is a struggle to keep our heads above the grass.
To quote Mr Peters “it is a crying shame to see the state of some of these grounds and it is more depressing to observe the decline of community – based activities due to the lack of proper recreational facilities.”
